Session on: Biomaterials for tissue engineering applications

Biomaterials is anessential constituent of tissue repair and regeneration which plays animportant role in developing tissue constructs and functions as an artificialextracellular matrix to support tissue regenerationprocess. Since the major mechanical property of various tissue types isstretchability, so the researchers have been working to develop thebiomaterials which will mimic the native tissues, complex bone defects and osseointegration ofimplants.

Session on: Tissue Remodelling

Tissue remodellingis the restructuring or reconstruction of the prevailing tissues which can beaccomplished by pathological or physiological process. This leads to thecharacteristic change of the tissues such as blood vessel remodelling orresults in the dynamic equilibrium of a tissues in bone remodelling. Thus, themacrophages will repair remodel tissues andwounds by producing proteases and extracellular matrix. To enhance the tissueremodelling, recently tissue engineershave tried to harness the extracellular matrixsignalling potential to promote the functional reconstruction of injured ormissing tissues.
